welcome to the malamud family, the early years

Welcome.  This album is made by paul francis malamud, and is one of a series about my family’s life and times.   I was born to ann and bernard malamud in Greenwich Village, in manhattan.

dad wanted a career as a teacher, so we moved to corvallis, oregon, around 1950.   He had gotten a job teaching freshman composition at oregon state college.  my sister, janna, was born after we moved to corvallis.

Our family roots were, essentially, in the great depression.   even after the war, few had any spending money.
